Wills for parents
Have children under the age of 25 years?
Wills for parents include a testamentary trust to hold a minor’s inheritance until a certain age is reached. A child cannot inherit until they reach the age of 18 years, and 21 or 25 are often stipulated in connection with time for further education and allowing for the establishment of identity and direction prior to, and independent of, an inheritance being received.
For parents of younger children, legal and practical information about the things to consider when appointing legal guardians is included. Importantly, as you are guided through the process, the information you provide will form the basis of a Memorandum for guardians and children (known as a statement of wishes, the type of thing that all parents intend to get to one day). This is provided with Wills containing testamentary trust for minors, it can contain as much or as little as you wish to provide, and it can be amended and added to later (you know, when you get to it!).
Memorandums to children of any age, or any loved ones, are also available..

Your Will, your way
Back in 1887, Albert knew that his Will was the perfect place to tell his loved ones exactly how much they meant to him. He knew they would be eagerly awaiting his final words, and the final gifts he would bestow upon them, and he wanted to make it personal. You too are encouraged to personalise your last Will and testament to ensure that your loved ones are taken care of - just hopefully not quite in the same way poor old Albert did!
Want to raise a smile from beyond the grave? No problem. Want to cause a bit of mischief after you’re gone? Let’s see what we can do (well, within reason, and law, and in old English too, of course). Want to ensure it’s legally binding? That we can definitely do.
It’s your Will, so we’ll do it your way.

‘I Albert Hood (Orton) of 25 Market Street Coventry Boot & Shoe Manufacturer hereby revoke all testamentary dispositions heretofore made by me and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. I give unto my wife Jane Orton...a farthing which I direct my Executrix to forward to her by post with the postage unpaid as an indication of my disgust of the treatment I have received at her hands, more especially in respect of the abusive epithets she was in the habit of applying to me when the exigencies of nature compelled me to break wind in her presence or within her hearing, on which occasion she was in the habit of calling me amongst other...names "a rotten old pig" "a stinking old beast" ...she was well aware that I was suffering at the time from flatulence, piles and bronchitis and that those infirmities were the cause of my farting as I did, and for which I was assailed with the opprobrious insults of which I complain. I give to my daughter…the sum of Twenty five pounds and I appoint my said daughter Executrix of this my Will And as to all my residuary personal estate and any other estate that I have power to dispose of by Will I give devise bequeath…the same in equal proportions unto and between my two grandchildren…for their absolute use - shared and shared alike.’
On the 24th August 1888 Probate of this Will was granted to [Albert’s daughter] the Sole Executrix.
